Who can be a Registered Agent?

A registered agent can be an individual residing in Oklahoma or a corporation authorized to transact business in Oklahoma. Foreign corporations may also act as agents, provided they are registered with the state. Unlike in other states, a corporation can be its own registered agent in Oklahoma.[2]

An agent must have a business office, which will double as the corporation’s registered office. The agent must be available during regular business hours to accept service.

Can I be a Registered Agent?

Yes, if you are a resident of Oklahoma or a business registered to conduct business in Oklahoma.

The most common way corporations select a registered agent is to include the agent’s information in their formation document.

Businesses can be registered online. Alternatively, select the correct form from the list below. Complete and send, along with payment for the filing fee, to Oklahoma Secretary of State 421 NW 13th St, Suite #210 Oklahoma City, OK 73103.

Changing a Registered Agent

A corporation can change its registered agent by filing a Change or Designation of Registered Agent and/or Registered Office form (Form 0056) with the Secretary of State.[3]
