An Arizona registered agent, or “statutory agent,” is a role appointed by a business entity to receive service of process notice or demand required by law to be served.[1]
Statutory Duties
- To forward notices, processes, or demands to the address given to the registered agent by the business;
- To provide notice to the business if the registered agent is to resign; and
- To keep information listed with the Arizona Corporations Commission.[2]

Who can be a Registered Agent?
There are 3 requirements to be a registered agent:
- Place of business. Must have a place of business within the State; no PO Boxes allowed.
- Allowed roles.
- For individuals: Must be a resident of Arizona.
- For businesses: Must be a limited liability company (LLC) or corporation authorized to transact business within the State.[3]
- Consent. Approval must be given to be a registered agent by signing the Statutory Agent Acceptance (Form M002.006).[4]
Can I be a Registered Agent?
Yes, an individual who is 18 years of age and a resident of Arizona can act as the registered agent for their business. It is most common for an individual to act as a registered agent for their business upon formation with the Corporations Commission Website:

Changing or Updating a Registered Agent
A registered agent’s information can be changed for a business entity by:
- Completing Form: LLC Statement of Change (Form L020.005)
