Registered Agent Search

Step 1 – To perform a lookup or view a business entity’s current registered agent details, go to the Alaska Dept. of Commerce, Community and Economic Development Website. Type the agent’s last name in the 2nd line and their first name in the 3rd line. After entering, click the “Search” button.

Step 2 – If there are any matches, they will appear below the search portal, including the entity type, number, and name. To view additional details regarding the entity, click the 6-digit entity number.

Who can be a Registered Agent?

A registered agent can either be an individual who is a resident of Alaska or a corporation authorized to transact business within the State (cannot be another entity type).[1] A registered agent’s main purpose is to handle services on behalf of a business entity which may include being served processes, notices, or demands.[2]

Can I be my own Registered Agent?

Yes, an individual, such as an organizer of an entity, can serve as the registered agent if they are a resident of Alaska. The entity itself cannot act as a registered agent.[3] It is most common for organizers to act as their own registered agent when forming their business using any of the following methods:
