A Nevada registered agent is a person or entity authorized to receive service of process, notices, and demands on a corporation’s behalf.[1] The agent is responsible for forwarding this official communication to the corporation. Every corporation operating in Nevada, whether domestic or foreign, must have a registered agent.

Registered Agent Search
Step 1 – Visit the search page on SilverFlume, which is the state’s online business portal.
Step 2 – Enter the registered agent’s name. It’s helpful to select “Active” under “Status” beneath the “Advanced Search Options” header as a means of narrowing search results. Click “Search.”
Step 3 – Click “Manage this Business” beside the correct agent or entity.
Step 4 – Clicking on an entity leads to information about its agent, including the agent’s name, address, and website.

Changing a Registered Agent
To change its registered agent, a corporation can file a Statement of Change with the Secretary of State.[6]
The statement must include the entity’s name and the information that will change, such as the agent’s name and address. The interest holders or governors of an entity do not need to approve this filing. The change takes effect upon the statement’s filing. Per state law, the fee for changing a registered agent is $60.[7]

Resigning as a Registered Agent
A registered agent can resign by filing a Statement of Resignation with the Secretary of State. The statement must include the entity’s name and the agent’s name. It must also state that the agent resigns and that written notice of the resignation has been or will be provided to the entity. Filing a Statement of Resignation costs $100 per entity. The resignation takes effect 31 days after the statement is filed or when a new agent is appointed, whichever comes first.[8]
